There is no OfficeSyncProcess in the registry. Nothing in MSConfig with role in information technology. Whatsoever other ideas? Is at that place an actual solution for Office 2016 on windows 10?
It does seem in task manager I tin kill
C:\Programme Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\MSOSYNC.EXE
And it goes away.
Are we really maxim the merely way to disable this is to delete this file?

If you are not using OneDrive why go yourself distracted by something which will not be used and is not consuming any resources?
Your win/role installation is full of files/processes that may non exist used, in your specific circumstances

Because I am using OneDrive for Music, pics, but I don't want to use it for spread sheets and word docs that take personal information in them. Exactly as y'all say why do I have to be distracted by it ever being present in thy task bar? It wouldn't go away.
Somehow settings for it changed. Accept no idea how only now I meet "Uncheck Brandish Icon in Notification Area. ". I could swear that wasn't there yesterday. Anyway unchecking and information technology is gone.

Because if it is running it is using resource!!!! Information technology uses retentiveness, CPU, and network bandwidth by continuously checking your OneDrive Deject drive. Since I don't accept whatsoever files in OneDrive, nor programme on putting any there, my figurer doesn't need to be continuously checking to see if I uploaded any files to it from another computer.

I besides demand to go rid of this. I use office behind a corporate firewall and go multiple prompts to sign in. MUC needs to either go abroad, or provide a style to read the proxy settings in IE.

This may exist a crude method - simply information technology'southward the only thing that worked for me after finding no help online.
Go to C > Program Files > Microsoft Office > Root > Office16
Hither you will find all the plan .exe files for all the Function programs. 1 of these is the Upload Eye program. It is called MSOUC.exe (you'll recognise it by the icon (large white arrow over an orange circumvolve).
Simply delete the file - and so Upload Center no longer runs. Unproblematic!

Deleting MSOUC.EXE and all of its registry entries doesn't set up the problem, I don't have Office 365 installed but I do have the gratis OneNote which information technology keeps recreating the file and all of its registry entries, it checks with Microsoft Server and reinstall it right dorsum, I wasted a couple of hours deleting MSOUC.EXE registry entries and at the cease I was defeated. Information technology is totally useless and to exist honest a lot of programmers at Microsoft no longer recollect straight, they accept the piece of cake fashion out at the expense of the user time and resources.
But I accept an idea, I am going to disable it from the Firewall and let'south see how information technology goes, please stand up past…

Getting Rid of MSOUC.EXE
If you delete MSOUC.EXE, it resolves cypher, information technology will exist reinstalled correct back, OneDrive connects to Microsoft Server for updating and fixing errors, then it will be reinstalled.
First and foremost yous demand to disable MSOUC.EXE in Windows Firewall from both incoming and approachable rules before deleting it:

Now y'all can be certain; MSOUC.EXE won't re-infect your PC again when you activate OneDrive, its Setup volition pop-up simply terminated in a split up second by the firewall rules, it won't exist able to communicate with Microsoft server and reinstall the MSOU.EXE back.
I tested it 12 times in the past 24 hours and Microsoft server failed to reinstall MSOUC.EXE in my PC.

P.S. This last footstep is not required and I don't recommend information technology, I deleted every entry in the registry pointing to MSOUC.EXE except the four belonging to Firewall New Rules, those stay put.
